Duskhold Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22 October 2026
Duskhold helps you block the apps, short-video feeds and websites you choose. This policy explains what information the app uses and why.
1. Accessibility Service
Duskhold uses Android's Accessibility Service API. While the service is turned on, Duskhold reads:
- which app is on screen;
- whether a Reels or Shorts player is open in Instagram or YouTube;
- the website address shown in your browser;
- the text of Settings screens, so Strict mode can stop Duskhold from being switched off.
This information is processed on your phone, only to block what you chose. It is not stored, not sent anywhere and not shared with anyone.
2. Information stored on your phone
Duskhold saves your blocks and their schedules, your reason message, your lock and Strict mode settings, and a count of how many times something was blocked today. This stays in the app's private storage on your phone. Uninstalling Duskhold deletes it.
3. Device admin (Strict mode)
If you turn on Strict mode, Duskhold becomes a device admin app so that it can't be uninstalled while blocking is on. It uses no other device admin powers.
4. Purchases
Duskhold Pro is sold through Google Play. Google Play handles payment; Duskhold never sees your payment details. Duskhold uses RevenueCat, Inc. to check your subscription. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID, your Duskhold purchase history and basic device information such as the app version, Android version and country. 5. Analytics and crash reports
Duskhold uses Google's Firebase. Firebase Analytics receives events about how the app is used: signing in, the setup steps, adding blocks, reaching the free limit, opening or closing the upgrade screen and where it was opened from, buying Pro or a failed purchase with its error code, turning on Strict mode, starting a focus session and its length, asking for, cancelling or finishing an unlock, the blocker being switched off, and answering the notification prompt. It also receives three settings as user properties: whether Pro is on, whether Strict mode is on, and a rough count of your blocks (1, 2-3 or 4+). These come with basic device information such as the app version, Android version, country, device model and an app instance ID, and are not linked to your name or email. Firebase Crashlytics receives crash reports with the same basic device information. Duskhold never sends which apps or websites you block, your reason message or anything the Accessibility Service reads. Firebase's privacy information: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
6. Google sign-in
Signing in with Google is optional: Duskhold offers it after your first block, and blocking works the same without it. If you sign in, Google shares your name, email address, profile picture and Google account ID with Duskhold. They are stored by Supabase, Inc., which runs Duskhold's sign-in, together with sign-in records such as the time and your IP address. Duskhold never sends which apps or websites you block, your reason message or anything the Accessibility Service reads. Signing out removes the account from your phone; your blocks and settings stay. To delete your account and its data, open Settings, then Account, then Delete account in the app, or email the address in section 10. How to delete your account. Supabase's privacy policy: https://supabase.com/privacy
7. What Duskhold doesn't do
Duskhold has no ads. RevenueCat uses your purchase history to run subscription analytics for Duskhold. Duskhold does not sell your information.
8. Children
Duskhold is not directed at children under 13.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published in the app and at the address listed on the Google Play store page.
